Woodworking has been a big deal for me

Living in the desert, exploration is easy and close. I don't blend well doing tourist things but rather enjoy 'off the beaten path' kind of stuff. I don't like tours or anything organized and crowded. Give me the desert a history book and a way to get around and turn me loose..

Electronics has not only been my career for 60 % of my working life but has always held a special place in my heart. When I was a kid, I remember a TV series names 'Time Tunnel'. It was sci-fi about a time machine type tunnel and there were lots of flashing-buzzing 'computers' operating the 'tunnel'. I was mesmerized by these modern computerized machines. Your imagination is the limit.

Somebody invented this just for me. I think, I design, and this machine creates it.

Love for the Old West and especially the post Civil War era from 1850 to 1890. The spirits called and convinced me to build Thornbush and now I am the caretaker of what was and now is.   

I have a love for the railroad - Especially Steam Trains and their place in history and the growth of America. This is the 5th iteration in 18 years but the desert is a really hard place to do this successfully. I'm happy with the results

Licensed Amateur radio operator HAM

I procrastinated my whole life over this. Then I wake up one day at 68 years old and decide to get licensed. I studied hard for 3 weeks, tested and got 2 licenses in one day. Done

Chicken Ranching

Each has a personality and shame on us for eating them. My chickens trade me butt-nuggets for chicken feed and I sit with them every day - They're pets

Not much grows here.

but what does grow,

the rabbits and ground squirrels devour. So yeah, I grow a garden but apparently it's for them
